Overview

This 7 Nights / 8 Days Bhutan Tour covers the cultural, spiritual, and scenic highlights of Thimphu, Punakha, Phobjikha, and Paro. Starting from Paro, the journey takes you to Thimphu to explore its iconic landmarks like Buddha Dordenma, National Memorial Chorten, and local craft markets. From there, travel to Punakha via the breathtaking Dochula Pass, visiting the Fertility Temple, Punakha Dzong, and Suspension Bridge. The trip continues to Phobjikha Valley, home to the Black-Necked Crane and Gangtey Monastery, often called the “Switzerland of Bhutan.” Returning to Paro, you’ll visit the National Museum, Rinpung Dzong, and take an excursion to Chele La Pass for panoramic Himalayan views. Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Paro to Thimphu
On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by Oma Tours and Travel’s representative and transfer to the hotel for check in. Enroute visit Tamchog Lhakhang: This temple is dedicated to Thangthong Gyalpo, the bridge builder. Crossing this very old bridge with its swaying and undulating movements can be quite an experience. Later in the evening, you can relax in the hotel or stroll around the Paro town on your own. Overnight in Paro

Day 02: Thimphu Sightseeing
Thimphu is the most modern city in Bhutan with an abundance of restaurants, internet cafes, nightclubs and shopping centres. However, it still retains its’ cultural identity and values amidst the signs of modernization. In Thimphu, we will enjoy the most attractive sightseeing as mentioned here. Buddha Dordenma: It is located atop in Kuenselphodrang Nature Park, is one of the largest statues of Buddha in the world. National Memorial Chorten: It was built in the memory of Third Druk Gyalpo and is dedicated to World Peace. Folk Heritage Museum: It provides visitors with fascinating insights into the Bhutanese material culture and glimpse of the traditional Bhutanese lifestyle. Royal Textile Museum: It operates a state of art museum to display its collection of artifacts to further the understanding of Bhutan's rich textile traditions and way of life. Authentic Bhutanese Crafts Market: It is a perfect place to get a glimpse inside art and craft of Bhutan. One can also buy souvenirs which will help our local entrepreneurs. Clock Tower Square: Situated at the heart of Thimphu city, it is one of the most busy area where youths get together. There are many shops, restaurants and cafes to hop in. Stroll around the town and enjoy the beautiful art and architecture. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 03: Thimphu to Punakha
After our leisure breakfast, we will start our journey to Punakha. Punakha Dzongkhag has been inextricably linked with momentous occasions in Bhutanese history. Visit Dochula Pass: The pass is a popular location among tourists as it offers a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of the Himalayan mountain range. The view is especially scenic on clear, winter days with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 chortens gracing the mountain pass. Chimi Lhakhang: Also known as The Fertility Temple, is a temple of magic and miracles. It is believed that childless couples can visit and pray for fertility to conceieve the child. The hike is very enjoyable through scenic Mesina village. Punakha Dzong: The "Palace of Great Happiness" is not only the second oldest and second largest dzong but it also has one of the most majestic structures in the country. Punakha Suspension Bridge: It is the second longest suspension bridge in Bhutan. It is the perfect spot for photographers and nature lovers with beautiful views around. Overnight in Punakha

Day 04: Punakha to Phobjikha
Phobjikha is one of the most prestigious places in Bhutan. Phobjikha is also known as mini Switzerland of Bhutan. The place is home to rare and exotic bird, Black Necked Crane. Gangtey Monastery: Situated atop a hill, the monastery offers a stunning view of Phobjikha valley. The monastery is the main seat of the Pema Lingpa tradition. Black Necked Crane Centre: The BNCVC is one of the most visited Information Centres in Bhutan. It serves as a resource and information center on sustainable ecotourism activities and environment education and conservation programs in Phobjikha valley. Evening you can walk around the village and interact with the locals. Overnight in Phobjikha.

Day 05: Phobjikha to Paro
After breakfast, start the trip towards Paro. Paro is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley. National Museum: Paro is home to the National Museum which is an ancient watch tower that now displays hundreds of ancient Bhutanese artifacts and artwork including traditional costumes, armour, weaponry and handcrafted implements for daily life. The collection at the National Museum preserves a snap-shot of the rich cultural traditions of the country. Rinpung Dzong: "Fortress on a Heaps of Jewel", the dzong is considered to be one of the finest example of Bhutanese architecture. Overnight in Paro

Day 06: Day Excursion to Chele La Pass
After our leisure breakfast, we will start for the day excursion to Chele La Pass. Chele La Pass: It is regarded as the highest motorable pass in Bhutan. On a clear day, one can get spectacular views of Mt. Jumolhari, Mt. Jitchu Drake, Haa and Paro Valley. The pass is surrounded by colourful prayer flags and is a perfect spot to take scenic photographs. Bird's Eye View Point: Also known as Airport view point, it offers exquisite view of Paro valley. A perfect place to take photographs. Later in the evening, you can stroll around the Paro town on your own.

Day 07: Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast, we will start our day hike to Tiger’s Nest monastery. Taktsang Lhakhang: The monastery is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark and religious site. The name Taktsang translates to “The Tiger’s Nest”. This temple is one of the most holy sites in the kingdom and clings impossibly to a sheer cliff face 900 meters above the Paro Valley. No trip to Bhutan would be complete without a visit to this remarkable heritage site. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Paro.
